Total Eclipse #16 — Military Intelligence

"Here’s my plan. Walk into their trap."

Impressions:

At least they threw in a terrible insert song during it. That’s how you knew it was a super serious moment. Of a fight against a character who has had about four minutes of screentime up to this point. That there wasn’t even any real sign that he’d lose anyway except people saying "she’s strong." Not that their little duel made much sense anyway, although it was better than watching more of the Americans stand around talking about how great they are. Apparently we’re not done with the sexually frustrated Chinese either, although next to nothing of that entire affair, particularly the ending of it, made much of any sense.

Most of the episode though was spent talking about things happening off screen, or a couple minutes before, which is exciting as ever. The most interesting thing going on continues to be the Scarlet Twins, but I suspect that’s just because they aren’t getting enough focus for the bad writing to kick in. It is edging pretty close with RUSSIAN HATES LOVE though. You’d still think they’d be getting at least a mini-arc soon considering they’re main characters and all. Preferably one that doesn’t involve Yuuya having to explain the concept of dating.

In Soviet Russia, LOVE HATES RUSSIAN!

  • Kunagisa says:

Are you going to do the Horimiya OVA? You probably will hate it but somehow I don’t think anyone else is going to even bother looking at it.

    • Aroduc says:

Meh. Super low budget, girly romance, and the only thing I see on a casual glance are yet more Chinese subs. I watched it for a minute or two. It was very very VERY cheap.

  • algorithm says:

Cryska, don’t turn into the same jelly joke character as Yui, please.

    • Gorilla13 says:

They’re both boring. Stella is who Yuuya should bang but too bad he’s too weaboo to realize that.

      • BoschTehFag says:

If i remember correctly Yuuya did bang her in the novel. I know he bangs a blonde i’m pretty sure it was Stella. The anime is to make way for the upcoming game. It just needs to catch people up who didn’t read the novel. The budget might be low, but than again muv-luv never really focused much on pretty girls. It was mainly to help sell their dam robot figures. The pretty girls are just a extra.
