At least a lot of rapists died.

I had planned on maybe looking for some pictures of dogs in hats and calling that a Deen Pretty Boys season 2 post, but Btooom’s surprise pre-air muck successfully robbed me of that will. Blame Madhouse. Apparently it was recap anyway. Also, there was technically a 13th episode of Nobuna broadcast today, but it was just recap/clips. Only really notable for a new Erectile Dysfunction CM at the end of it.

Impressions:

Very dull end to this arc, but at least it’s over. The Soviets bomb themselves, but then are conveniently wiped out in turn by SURPRISE LASERS before the ‘good’ Soviets go marching off to their noble deaths to save ol’ whose-his-face and the frontline. I don’t even remember that about four episodes ago, they were all rapists and murderers either! But it’s okay. They know the power of friendship. At least the Scarlets (probably) got to show up for a moment to kill everybody and everything. Plus the laser BETA were just as ridiculous as before thanks to awful directing. "ALARM ALARM" –cut to planes being shot down– –cut to woman screaming to evade– –‘Highly trained’ pilot in highly mobile mech gets shot down– Total elapsed time between alarm and reaction: 10 seconds. Maybe we should’ve had the mech get shot down right after the warning, eh?

And… uh… the arc just kind of petered out there. Captain Hobo made it back safely and we cut forward to him thinking that he now knows the meaning of his life. From… uh… I’m not sure what. That he thinks they died protecting him but actually his friends murdered them to shut them up about… I’m not actually sure what? That’s the kind of thing that could have used some evil Soviet twirling his handlebar mustache in the shadows at the end instead of just a silly "episode’s over, everybody go home."
