Impressions:

Another mostly setup episode, particularly the first half, but things were getting going by the end. Kimi enjoyed both slapping and kissing Margot entirely more than she probably should have. I’m also not entirely certain where the cyclone came from. Or why she’s undressed again. Actually, has she been fully dressed at all this season? I’m leaning towards no. The entire gang also showed up to help Tenzou rescue Mary (a surprise to nobody) in a sequence that seemed like it really should’ve come at the end of last episode instead.

The invasion finally kicked off in the second half, but there’s only so long you can look at CG ships slowly drifting through the air or Galaxy Angel-esque tactical screens of blips moving around. Or worse, listen to daddy issues just literally spewed out by talking heads. Hopefully that (and the preceeding cheap episodes too) means they were saving up again for the ending episodes like they did with the first season. Plus, given how little point Chesty’s had in the story so far, I’m not buying their attempts to do… well… anything with her. She’s just kind of off in her own little world all but completely divorced from anything involving the main characters. I’d rather see just about anything else going on concurrently instead of her.
