Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere #20 — Quick! Preserve the Budget!

August 18th, 2012

This was not an exciting episode.

Impressions:

Fairly dull setup episode, especially compared to the last few weeks. Given how lame Tenzou’s defeat was and the sheer number of times they used the exact same pan over the peanut gallery during the conference, I think they may have just ran out of money. Hopefully they were saving up for the upcoming Spanish fleet/final arc of this bit. They still could’ve done a lot more to make this amusing than bad Toori jokes. This week, he temporarily put on a dress and wooed men before he was stripped naked and left tied up in a closet.

Anywho, Liz carts off Mary and then it’s basically just a whole lot of dinner partying, politicking, and fanservicing making sure that the figure makers stay employed. Just a lot of posturing, stretching things out, and being really really really cheap basically while painfully repetitive music played. I didn’t actually time it, but I’m pretty sure they played a full five minute song just straight off the OST. Musical direction? Pshaw. Who needs that?

Horizon is basically a balance between from being good and bad. A lot of QUALITY in this episode indeed.

Plot wise it was good, but they got really lazy in the animation of political negotations in this one.

is that Maeda Toshiie from PA ODA at the end?
Great, more politics for next week.
