Campione! #02 — Throwing Pigs

At least it’s not more horses.
Impressions:
I guess unlike the other two breastful AT-X ‘action’ shows in this 12 hour span, this one didn’t drop as much as the other two. Then again, it was starting on a lower level. So congratulations to Diomedea for managing to maintain the same standard. Round of applause. The whole plot continues to be completely paint by the numbers, Godou continues to be annoying, the exposition continues to be excessive, and Erica being horny is a poor substitute for her being drunk. There weren’t even any of the ‘nice’ CG cars for me to sarcastically compliment.
Well, it wasn’t all bad. They actually did a surprisingly decent job with the fight scene. It was just shortish, had a constant narrative over the whole thing, and as a training fight, had little actual impact to it. I did chuckle a little bit at the end when he just tackled her in the middle of her endless rambling though. Anything to finally shut these characters up. But it did look like an actual fight when they bothered to show him instead of the spectators. Not obnoxious stills or staring at each other as long as you ignore the long asides from the peanut gallery. Otherwise, just some introductions to a few other characters. His bitchy sister, random obnoxious classmates, etc. Just checkboxes for the show to go through while it fills up some time. Yawn. Next!

Wow, that was an unexpectedly nice review. You didn’t even complain how they cut away from the fight to give more exposition. Then there’s the reused footage, all the corniness and the “convenient developments”…
