Zombie’ssu #14 — REMEMBER OUR FIRST SEASON!?

April 4th, 2012

If not, we’re here to remind you all about it.

Impressions:

Well, at least they introduced a new… irritatingly screamy… character in between having the characters just sit down and literally tell each other who they are. My theory about amnesia being a communicable disease in Japan prevented by constantly repeating every facet of your character is looking more and more likely. "I’m the genius magic girl!" "I’m the vampire ninja!" "I’m the zombie’ssu!" "I’m the hot forehead girl with exposed shoulders!" "I’m the pointless friend with no distinguishing characteristics whatsoever!" "I’m the CG Dyson fan, the most dynamic character in the show!" Good work, team. We’ve successfully eaten up an entire half an episode and gone absolutely nowhere.

And then a giant squid attacks and Ayumu’s forced to transform in front of everybody. I had thought they already done that. Even with the memory wiping. I don’t know. I guess I don’t like thinking about the first season of Zombiessu that much. Although I still have enough of a memory to remember all the jokes they recycled this episode. Yes, it’s still not a kick, etc. Thanks for reliving your greatest hits. As you know, the only thing that makes jokes better are repeating them in the exact same way, but years later. Hilarious. He also gets ‘drunk’ with random pink girl who by virtue of being in the OP we know will be important. That was easily the highlight of the episode once she stopped screaming.

So aside from drunk time, which was fairly amusing at least, most of this episode was spent on rehashing and recapping. Fan-bloody-tastic.

Not actually a preview, but it was cute.

Thank god! I was going to skip this series if the Dyson wasn’t front and center.

  • Avisch says:

Every time Japan puts in recap longer than 30 seconds, I want to kill something.

  • eternia says:

Shana season III even has full one episode serving purpose as recap. GOD. DAMN. IT. We don’t have such a bad memory so that we need recap. Maybe the Japanese viewers are.

  • Newprimus says:

Of course their memories are bad. They picked Bakemonogatari and K-on as #1 and #2 of the best animes of 2000-2012.

    From 2000 to 2012.

    Geezus.

  • K says:

I don’t know, at least I laughed during the show.

  • The Phantom says:

    I liked this episode.

  • ark noir says:

I must admit I laughed at this epi thought the supernatural harem genre is getting tiresome.
