Kill Me Baby #03 — Transform!

January 19th, 2012

Oh boy. More Thursday/Friday Rie.

Well, if it keeps being the first thing to pop up after MH, I guess I’ll keep turning it on.

Impressions:

Better than last episode, but Agiri’s bits are really the only ones that I consistently enjoy. Unfortunately, she was almost completely absent this week. Instead there was a little bit of introduction to the last ‘main’ character, the unused one who keeps showing up too late to scenes to join the characters. That was already getting tedious by the end of the episode. Hopefully they’ll be a little more creative ala Akarin’s disappearance in Yuruyuri, but I kind of doubt it. With another Rie-voiced character, between this, P4, Shana, and Zero, I think I’m getting more than enough of her shrill banshee shrieking to last a lifetime. At least she wasn’t using her harpy voice here.

Some of the super powers bits in the first half were okay, but as I think I’ve said for both the previous episodes, it could really use some directorial flair, particularly in the musical department to sell these jokes. Let’s find a level between screaming out an explanation of the punchline and absolutely nothing at all. The second half was fairly dull though. They could’ve done a lot more and/or a lot better with either Sonya’s torturing of Yasuna’s gifts or the whole sumo thing.

    I’m sorry, who?

I’m sure she was a nice, sweet girl whoever she was. Not something you’d say about anything that sounds like the Rie.
