Ro-Kyu-Bu! #01 — Fetishism… Surprise!

July 1st, 2011

It just clicked this morning that you can read the show’s title as "69 Club!" That’s… unsettling.

Impressions:

Well, I’ve already blown my wad with pretending to be a total prat with Blade, so I guess I better take this seriously before I get to the second vampire show of the day. The brief version is that as expected, 80% of this is just fetishizing little girls. When they’re not panting, moaning, and rubbing large rubber balls balls, they’re in their underwear, in pajamas, in maid dresses, or just plain wet and naked. Well, and one strange point where one of them is wearing a bathing suit to bed. I’m not sure what that was. The remaining 18% of it is Hasegawa, the male lead, being insecure. That leaves a paltry 2% of the show actually focusing on humor or slow motion jump shots full of light bloom. I can appreciate… or in many cases, ignore… bad T&A with the best of them, but there is just absolutely nothing to this episode beyond looking at little girls in various fetish situations while they pant.

On the upside though, the production is actually fairly good. After coming off of Blade, my standards may be a little low, but it was at least much more animated and didn’t rely as heavily on bad shortcuts. They actually dribbled the ball and impossible even bounced it between their legs every now and then, although I’m fairly certain that I saw the ball teleport at least once. The MMO chatting was pretty lame, but that was the exception to the episode rather than the rule. There’s an odd lack of music through most of it.

So I guess maybe it’s better than I expected, but it’s still very plainly fetish-bait aimed at people who fantasize about sweaty little girls eager to please and crawling all over them… and little else in the way of humor or story that gives it any kind of character. That’s what sets it apart from a certain other show about underage magical girl detectives with hair colors normally associated with a healthy radioactive glow. Well, that and the really really pointy nipples.

Is the OP a little TOO serious… that’s what you’d play for the dark ark of Kenichi.

  • jingoi says:

Isn’t just great, another ecchi anime that ends up on my waiting list of BD releases.

  • Chen says:

I WISH this had Cordelia. Every show could use delusional lesbian predators.

  • Anise_Punter says:

Too loli for Aroduc, not sure I’d ever see-

All jokes aside, I was under the assumption that “69 club” was the “intended” reading?

    I too miss Milky Holmes

  • Dual says:

    LOLI POWAH!

  • Anonymous says:

      I know how you feel…

even though I Like lolis (and I REALLY LIKE LOLIS) I’m getting tired of this whole concept of moe. PARTICULARY the insecure/weakling male lead thing.

The very idea of wasting 25 minutes or so watching moe anime makes me sick.

these lolis are cute though, I might give it a chance sooner or later.

and I have no idea why I’m so talkative

  • The Phantom says:

Wow this show sucked, can we stop with the loli-ecchi crap, is damned disturbing…

  • Hexmage says:

Seeing as Mitsudomoe made me uncomfortable at times, I’m gonna steer clear of this show.

  • The Bastketball says:

This anime is nice. It will probably be one of the best this season.

In hindsight, after all 12 episodes, you were right. Ok, maybe Pingdrama I would rate slightly better, but still.

  • Tachi says:

SUCH an awesome show. Minato Tomoka is a goddess. All Hail Lolicism!
