Under the Innocent Sky #06 — Psycho Killer

Qu’est-ce que c’est.

Impressions:

Fairly light on the comedy this week and most of it was with Naru meowing like a moron and getting lost in delusions about Hayato… and the disturbing scene of Chitose’s headwound being compared to a vagina, complete with him moaning like a little girl as Hiyoko rubbed ointment into it. Naru is growing on me, but her personality and cuteness is at complete odds with most of the rest of Hayato’s channel. Still not bad though I did think it was a little too Uncle Benish to have the culprit be the same guy that he chased off last episode. Loathe as I am to admit it, Hayato’s side of things does have the strongest plot and direction of the group. They also rather directly hinted last week that Kobato was aware of his changes, but outright revealed it. Same with Ohtori, despite being hopped up on LSD.

I suppose the big thing this week was the reveal of another much more brutal and violent personality that at least Hayato tries to desperately suppress before it finally takes him over at the very end. Like I said before with Mr No-Personality, it’s much more interesting when the lines between the personalities and realities start to blur, and no less so when it’s Hayato and Galuda there than No-Personality and any of the others. I do wonder how Naru’s going to react since she’s finally directly involved in the violent gang side of Hayato’s stuff and assumably won’t just continue to run around meowing at him. Or at least, it’ll be very very sad looking if she continues to do it after her cat ear was shot off.

Er dude… Isn’t that, like totally, obvious? He’s the coolest out of the 3 after all. I was suffering so much last ep because 99% of it was about Mr.Pussy & his lame ass name (Cyanble? WTF?) so I’m really glad this ep at least has some Hayato in it.

Takashi is the central character at the story’s core since he’s the original/true personality. He just has the worst grip on what’s actually going on between all of them.

  • Anonymous says:

Takashi is Mr. Pussy right? If so then I don’t know about “worse grip” watsoever but I DO know that his personality is the worse, not the mention his lack of a pair (of balls).

That’s why I’m glad that this show has many central protagonists so in case we have a sucker like Mr.Pussy, then we can focus on the cooler ones (Hayato, and even Shunsuke) instead of dropping the show as a whole simply because of his faggotry.

    • Aroduc says:

Well, it may be a little more of a VN thing at the moment, but while Chitose and Hayato are fully aware that when they’re in Gretagard, they’re not in control, Takashi thinks that he’s actually being summoned to Gretagard and going on adventures and whathaveyou. All of Chitose and Hayato’s conversations with each other have taken place in the same church that Takashi is ‘summoned’ to last episode.

    “Qu’est que c’est.”, XD.
    It’s “Qu’est-ce que c’est?” or “Qu’est-ce que c’est que ça?”

    • Aroduc says:

*shrug* I blame the Talking Heads pronunciation.

      • Personne française passant par là says:

My bad. I never know about the reference.
        But I laughed about that.

  • sterling01 says:

    Have you read the VN?

    • Aroduc says:

I absorb information directly from the internet. I know all that it knows.

…Wait what? Kakeru had MPD too?
