This is a very crotch-centric episode.

Impressions:

Better than the last couple episodes, but I feel both annoyed and underwhelmed by how they started teasing about what Enma’s little tiara thing was for and then it all turned out to just be going nowhere after all. I’m sure there’s a measure of truth to the sealing stuff anyway, but they played most of that fake exposition fairly straight as very weak setup to a fairly poor joke. Enpi’s schtick of having her hat knocked off week in and week out is starting to get fairly old too. At least it doesn’t have stock footage associated with it. Yet.

Luckily, most of the rest of the episode was decent. I think it was thanks in large part to Enma not really having much of a role this week other than to pretend to be Gamera in his kotatsu. They teased his powers going away in his angsty moment too, but it was just frozen batteries. Harumi managed to defeat the demon that was after her by calling its dick cute too. Come to think of it, there’s been an awful lot of that this season… This show continues to handle inserts better than most too, and this episode had two or three. I still think they’re usually annoying and distracting, but I’ve certainly heard more annoying plenty of times. I am starting to feel sorry for Kappaeru though. Even after all they’ve put him through, gtting ripped in half seems a bit much. He’s long overdue for at least something other than being abused.
