MM! #07 — Home Wrecker

So much for that happy family motif from last week, eh?

Impressions:

Well, at least the DBZ bit only lasted about a minute or two. I still don’t like Noa much though, and she sends the show off in strange directions when she’s around. This was similar to last week’s episode in structure. First about 9 minutes of generic beach training for Tarou before Yuuno finally gets him alone. Then Noa kidnaps them in a robot shark to play house before drinking a ‘growth enhancer’ (shall we say), inciting a pervert battle between pedophilia and masochism. Like I said, at least it was short, and more of a montage than anything else. There were also a lot of production issues this week. Yuuno took the brunt of it, her proportions frequently changing when the camera moved. Mio’s can also approximately tripled in size at some point. I also wonder how Mio’s raft doesn’t cast a shadow.

They really could have/should have done dysfunctional house a lot better than they did, especially once they started adding in other random cliche characters for Tarou. If they had taken the soap opera spoof and really run with it to the end, that would have been much preferable to what this episode ended up being. It reminds me of a great Galaxy Angel soap opera spoof where at the end of it, half the cast had murdered the other half, and Mint was revealed to be Milfie’s father. I think. It was hard to keep track. Unfortunately though, they settled for just declaring their cliche roles and then a montage of stills before launching off into their DBZ parody again. I really hope that’s the last we see of it. Except that there’s another Noa episode next week… sigh.

Another Noa episode, oh boy.

    “Dysfunctional house”?

Interesting Jersey Shore or The Real World reference.

  • Mika says:

We need another Mio centric episode. Ugh.

  • Rubypoyo says:

Violence with Moeeeeeeee does fit together :)

Another great episode of MM. I will agree that Noa isn’t being implemented properly, though she is fulfilling her role nicely of making Yuuno jealous. Was I the only one that wanted the battle to last a little longer? I suppose I will cope, what with more Tarou/Yuuno moments. I really am surprised at how well their development is going, I’ll have to give Akinari Matsuno more of my money and buy the light novels I am missing of this series. I’ve been entertained by all seven episodes so far into this show…which has been a rarity with anime for me as of late.

  • Keith 'Azure Grimoire' Kurogane says:

    To paraphrase Aroduc: “Damnit, Noa.”

  • alex says:

This episode was so wrong :)
That super-hentai fight was actually great unfortunately too short…”Loli!Loli!Loli!Loli!”
    Noa FTW ~desu
Noa at least forwards Taro X Yuno relationship.
The festival part could last a bit longer too.
yay, more Noa next time ~desu

  • Mesousa says:

Noa just plain disappeared at the ending.

  • anon says:

    I still fucking hate Yumi.

  • Anonymous says:

I’m glad we’ve been getting so much Yuuno as of late, I was afraid she’d be kicked aside for the shoe in (Mio), but she might actually have a chance!

That is… if the show even had a conclusion to their love triangle… square… shape. Which I don’t think is going to happen.

  • alex says:

strange things happen when Noa is around :)

  • Celestial says:

    OBJECTION.
