Heaven’s Lost Property Æ’ #07 — Love Love LOVE LOVE LOVE

November 12th, 2010

Actually, aren’t those the lyrics to some boy band song?

Impressions:

Looks like we’re getting into serious time. Or at least it would be if they didn’t cut off the cliffhanger of Chaos strangling Nymph while shouting about love like a psychopath with salsa. Just cut the bloody ED entirely instead of trying to wedge a cool island song to melt Chaos’ hot heart in there. They could have also done a much better job with the ‘Tomoki’ and Nymph scene if they had let there been at least a shred of doubt that it wasn’t actually Tomoki. Instead, they had his eyes covered and grinning like he had a collection of severed cat heads in his pants the entire time, just for Chaos to unsubtly reveal herself. If they wanted us to feel the same gut punch that Nymph did, then it shouldn’t have been painfully obvious that it was never Tomoki at all. The mouth laser was also very very silly.

Nothing too exciting with the rest. Astraea and Nymph ate Ikaros’s watermelons and spawned a plant beast that ate Tomoki, then Astraea taunted Nymph for being wingless. Great work, Delta. Sugata had the only decent jokes of the episode, but now he’s trapped with the roaming deus ex machina. I would have rather had 10 minutes of his Wil E Coyote antics with the harpies than the watermelon bit. I can already imagine him laying out corn with birdshot in it as some kind of crazy magnet scheme. Or maybe rocket skates… What was this show about again? Oh yeah, insane little nuns screaming about love. Right.

  • Anise_Punter says:

That’s a warm island song to melt Chaos’ icy heart, I think. Or is it a fresh island song to make me want to throttle whoever’s idea it was to cast Yuka Iguchi in this?

  • Mesousa says:

Actually, it’s from a rock band, not boy band.

Interestingly, the song is actually about not liking someone, kinda like me not liking this show, as the song implies, “hate” is a strong word.

  • Mesousa says:

I completely forgot to comment that this episode actually looked resistable. See, there should be less Tamaki as a midget scenes, and it’s actually doesn’t look sucky.

  • Wilfriback says:

Eh… guys….Chaos is voiced by Aki Toyosaki.

    BTW, http://tenka.seiha.org/images2/forte7/forte7_63.jpg
    I enjoyed Sugata’s disguise as a tree.

This guy is always happy, isn’t he?

  • Hyosuke says:

Wow I’m surprised they introduced Chaos already. Thought it would be later towards the end. Guess they’re not doing the same thing as the last season. Doesn’t matter, that just means next weeks episode will probably be one of the best the season has to offer. If it continues to follow the manga that is…

she looks like the mikako’s little sister

  • Dual says:

I watch Sora no Otoshimono for the plot

  • Shinji103 says:

I’m not sure why you think that we weren’t /supposed/ to realize that wasn’t really Tomoki at the end. Like you said it was painfully obvious, which makes it all the more clear that the staff fully intended for /us/ to know. But Nymph isn’t a real life person watching a show called Sora no Otoshimono, so of course she’s not going to be thinking “Hey, something’s weird with his eyes, he must be a bad guy!” at the first TV-sign of bad guy-ness.

    • Kaisos says:

Actually, I agree with Aroduc here. Making Tomoki act perfectly normal then suddenly pulling that ghoulish smile with the “I want you to self-destruct” line would have been AMAZING.

      • Aroduc says:

They were clearly going for building up the tension of “What evilness is going to happen?” but they kneecapped that instead of building it up first. If they wanted to stick with the evil route like this, they should have built up better to the “kill yourself” line. Have ‘Tomoki’ ask Nymph to prove her love to him by like, running off together, then if she was willing to give up all others, then if she was willing to kill herself… or something. *shrug*

  • Vegetarian4Life says:

wow chaos is the creepiest anime girl ever.

  • The Phantom says:

Astrea x Tomoki bakafight was really amusing.
