Roses roses everywhere.

Impressions:

This was unbelievably girly, but at least JCStaff is clearly in on the joke. Bishie sparklies and roses abound everywhere along with JCStaff’s signature watercolor/fade effects. You could light a galaxy with the stuff. The overall premise ended up being a hell of a lot more generic than I was expecting though. Lead Bishie is freaked out by all demons except the girls, who he gets along with. Sort of. In a lot of ways, he kind of reminds me as a cross between Watanuki and Ouran’s Tamaki, partially because of the whole premise of pairing every girl off with a bishie from the generic stable o’ bishies. There’s young bishie, stern bishie, blonde bishie, etc. He’s got the bishie look going and knows how to use it, but is also a giant screaming coward who runs to his woman for protection. Zakuro’s easier on the eyes than Doumeki at least.

Production was pretty poor all around. They made lots of cute faces, but it certainly was not ambitious with the animation and absolutely nothing interesting going on with the art style at all. The music, especially the demons’ song was… not so good either. The lack of any decent hook is probably this show’s biggest issue though. The characters are decent, and it’s watchable, but there’s really nothing to get excited about here unless you have a fetish for bishie sparklies and roses. There’s simply nothing here that makes it stand out; nothing particularly unique or interesting to say about it because it doesn’t do anything all that interesting.

It wouldn’t be a bad show to watch on a slow day to just pass the time since it was decently amusing, but… eh. It needs a bit more than what it showed this week.
