Actually, I have no idea how to number this.
I certainly did not completely forget about the Hidamari specials airing today and next week. *ahem*
The first part was decent and they gave it an extra 5 minutes above and beyond the usual half episode length, which was nice because the second half was fairly dreadful. It was about Natsume’s first meeting with Sae. You can tell it’s deep because her world had no color, then she met Sae and Shinbo stopped playing with the tint knob. It’s deep because it’s monochrome. Also, even for this show, I do not think finding shoes in a locker that you thought was supposed to be yours is the kind of soul crushing world ender that they tried to sell it as. Why, world!? Why? Why are there shoes in my shoe locker!!!????
The first segment was instead about them all wanting to go to the family restaurant
Friendly’s MogMog, proving that Shaft still hasn’t hired anybody who knows how to transliterate to English well. I’m pretty sure that those waitress uniforms are heavily padded too. And I’m irritating that Yoshinoya was never in one. Like every episode, it needed more Squeakyfeet. I’m also shocked that the girls figured out the drink machine in one go. Given their past flirtations with technology, I don’t think I’d trust them with anything more complex than a stick, and even then, I’d make sure that it’s blunt. There’s only so far you can go when you begin an episode with a sleepy disheveled Hiro (no doubt the result of a night of raucous ‘playing’) but the show’s done worse. They just blew their best jokes at the start of the episode and ended with the aforementioned hamhanded Natsume bit. Give the poor lesbian a break already.
