Shin Koihime Musou OT #06 — Otsu Otsu Otsu Otsu Otsu Otsu!

May 6th, 2010

Good lord, what a name.

Impressions:

Pretty dull episode, even for this show, about King Wutugu (I think), or whoever the hell Gotsu Totsu Kotsu is supposed to be showing up to get revenge on Gien as a vehicle for her and Batai to become friendlier. If they had invested a little bit of the budget into either Gien’s little sparring match with Batai or the final aborted Dotsu Motsu Botsu scuffle, this would have been a lot better. Hell, it even seemed like they were saving up the budget for something when they took a minute out to talk about the wonders of bamboo shoots for no particular reason. Sadly, it appears more likely that they had an extra minute to fill and wanted to talk about bamboo instead of just doing a 60 second pan of Ryuubi’s radioactive legs.

I’d also like to point out that I’m rather creeped out by Gien’s peach colored unmentionables. I think it might be an uncanny valley thing in that they’re close, but not quite her skin color, so it looks like she had a giant orange rash covering her body, or perhaps I remain unconvinced that she’s female. At the very least, she’s clearly doping on testasterone and is a little too eager to lick Ryuubi’s… dango.

Wu’s on first.

Encountering the southern barbarians seems to be the big thing for this season’s RoTK-inspired anime.

Wonder if this’ll do like Ikkitousen and end with people punching wolves and tigers.
