Polyphonica crimson S #09 — Infinite Pianists

May 30th, 2009

How exactly can a piano be infinite anyway?

Impressions:

It’s really hard to take this show seriously when the bad guys are flying around in a giant glowing lightbulb wielding an Infinite Piano. God help us if they manage to also steal the Endless Drum Machine. As expected, not a terribly interesting episode since they spent most of it explaining various things, mostly Corti’s past with the principal. Don’t even get me started on Corti’s convenient and rather speciic amnesia. For some reason, it also came as a huge shock to the entire cast that the terrorists who just stole an INFINITE PIANO and are laying waste to the city are trying to raze the world to make their own. Yeah, what a shock. They stole something with infinite pianoness and want to do something bad with it. That’s the kind of thing you can’t attempt with just the Inconceivably Long Clarinet.

There was also some painfully bad acting from Tomatsu (Corti) this week. I’ve never really liked the way that she overplays the hell out of Corti, but this week was particularly bad. I can’t help but picture her as something akin to the Fran Drescher of voice actresses whenever she starts screeching like a stuck pig.

Wow. You really didn’t enjoy this one much. But at least the plot actually moved forward, as opposed to no movement at all.

  • lol says:

I watch the show for the lulz. If you think about it fairies that can be powered up by music is about on the same level was power rangers.

    Unlimited Piano Works?

  • Silver says:

Hahaha! I actually enjoyed it though except for the acting from Corti like you said. Anyway, Power Rangers? Sorry but don’t quite see the connection.

It’s interesting though that the person who wrote this is the same person who wrote Scrapped Princess.
