Vampire Knight #10 — Twincestastic

And other made-up words.

Impressions:

Well, I tried to watch this episode late last night, but my attention kept drifting, so I tried to watch it in the morning as well, but didn’t have too much better luck. It starts off pretty promising… a nice Yuuki and Zero hug and some bonding, and then Maria spills the beans about being Zero’s vampire parent with Yuuki overhearing it all. And then the entire episode goes into limbo for about 5 minutes. Kaname erases Yuuki’s memory and she stumbled around until a cat bites her and she regains it. What on earth was the point of that? Absolutely nothing happened while Yuuki’s memory of PLOT DEVELOPMENT was gone. It was just like crappy amnesia filler started and ended to stretch the episode out.

Anyway, after that, we get a long twincestastic (which I’m pretty sure is not a word) flashback from Zero about his sick brother Ichiru (get it? Zero, Ichi-… never mind) and their little brotherly love-a-thon until Shizuka attacked them, chomped on Zero and then Ichiru sided with the vampire. Zero wakes up and his brother’s in the room with him, ready for more twin on twin loving.

So yeah, a bunch of revelations about things that we already knew, some uncomfortable Zero on Zero action, and a 5 minute amnesia filler segment.

Thrilling.
