The Ruler of Nabari #12 — “I Can’t Watch BL Anime With an Empty Stomach”

June 23rd, 2008

Words of the wise from Totali. I shouldn’t have tried.

Impressions:

Be glad I didn’t go with my original tagline: "Spatulagasm!"

Ugh. Come on ninja show. Remember back in episode 5 or so when they were all gung ho about tracking down and/or invading the other ninja villages? Here we are, some 7 episodes later, and the only scroll they’ve found is one that somebody brought to them. Meanwhile, the only thing really developing is the boylove between Yoite and Miharu.

Anyway, Miharu decides to leave Banten, despite Raimei urging otherwise, to join the Ash Wolves, but comes with his own conditions, the important one is no more deaths. He also brings along the only scroll that the Banten team has to show his sincerity (which Fuuma was keeping in a hidden room inside of what I can only assume is a porn DVD box), though Kotarou lets it go as part of his grandiose plan. The rest of the episode is Miharu getting on with the Ash Wolf gang and yet more boylove. Then they went out clothes shopping for something faaaaaaaaaaabulous. I wish I was joking. Then Raimei Raikou drives them into a ditch.

Bleh. At least there were a lot of spatulas. It’s amazing how spatulas can enliven even the most boring of conversations. They’re like tiny rays of sunshine in a dark, ninja, yaoi world. Or maybe I just need to dial down the sarcasm as I watch this show about four notches.

Preview:

Ew. Girls! They don’t belong in ninja yaoi!

I’m so confused.Y r the enamies hanging out with the good guys? R there even bad guys in this series?I mean numerous times everyone had a chance to kill Miharu. And what is up with Kazuhiko hair? Did he do something to it?

  • totali says:

Well, Miharu obviously joined them because there were more chances for yaoi action.

  • Twirble says:

    “Junjou Shirabanshu”

LOL, you reminded me of this-

  • Asa says:

It’s not as bad as in the manga.
    Raikou: “You’re Yoite’s friend, right?”
Miharu: “Do we seem like friends?”
Raikou: “You’re a little more than friends.”

Then Raimei drives them into a ditch.
    You mean Raikou?

  • Twirble says:

Oh come on they are just good buddies bonding. It’s not like they are holding hands, blushing and looking at the stars.

  • kuromitsu says:

“It’s not like they are holding hands, blushing and looking at the stars.”

    Not yet, anyway.

  • Rose says:

You shouldn’t really regard this as a “ninja show”, or you’ll be disappointing yourself even more. It’s something more general, with ninja elements.

  • Twirble says:

It’s more about relationships under difficult circumstances than anything else. It kind of makes me think of the teenagers out there that really are fighting in wars between the times spent on their ipods and surfing the net.

  • sage says:

Meanwhile, the only thing really developing is the boylove between Yoite and Miharu.

And I warned you so many times…
