The Ruler of Nabari #09 — Cameo by Yagami Light

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

Impressions:

My patience for this show is really starting to run thin. To be bad and noteworthy is one thing… at least I have something to talk about and I can point out where things went horribly wrong. Hell, even Kanokon has its moments before it plunges headlong into depths that man was not meant to tread.

Ha HA! Word choice.

Anyway, that I’d immediately go to Kanokon as a positive example for anything is a sign. Another 22 minutes of people sitting around and talking about being ninjas. That’s slightly less interesting than watching a group of sweaty nerds roleplay ninjas on pen and paper. At least then, you can steal the dice and watch what kind of crazy rules they invent. Ever want to see a Machiavellian power struggle? Watch people play DnD competitively.

So, yeah… we get to meet Raikou and his fanboy, neither of which were interesting, aside from the fact that crazy young Raikou looks close enough to Yagami Light that I expect the copyright police to be beating down JCStaff’s door at this very moment. We also got to meet… Yukimi’s sister. Yeah. I know. We were all hoping to meet his spunky sister for an Ash Wolf family get-together. Wonderful. Let’s see… Miharu also got all uncharacteristically angry at Kumohira and declared that he was going to save Yoite, who, at the same time, had passed out in the street and was being picked up by some random woman.

I’d be more excited for Raikou vs Raimei next week if not for two things. One, it should have happened this week, and two, the preview shots of next episode contained about 5 seconds worth of stills. All the more money to dump on Slayers I hope.

Preview:

Stills, stills, stills!

4 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • […] might change after watching next week’s episode. Oh, and I’m going to have to second Aroduc on his looking like Imagay Raito. […]

  • Randor says:

This is completely off topic but Spectacular Spiderman has got to be one of the best Spidey adaptations I’ve seen in ages- it just keeps getting better and better! ^_^.

  • Aroduc says:

    I still haven’t seen this week’s episode.

    Stop reminding meeeeeeeeeeeeee…

  • Furuba says:
